The CFVI Reference Group held its final meeting on 24 September and links to the final project information are available below.

We encourage continued promotion of the CFVI where possible, to the professionals and families we work with and the overarching aim is still for the CFVI to be made statutory in order to ensure children and young people with vision impairment receive the support they need at every stage of their journey to adulthood.

Please note, all of the CFVI resources can be found on the RNIB CFVI Pages: https://www.rnib.org.uk/cfvi

CFVI for Young People

  • We have been working with UCAN productions to produce a young Persons version of the CFVI. It has been produced by young people, for young people in a format of their choice. We are awaiting the launch of the CYP videos on the UoB website, as soon as these are live, we will share the link with you. These will also sit on the ‘RNIB CFVI For Young People’ page when available.
  • CFVI Champions - Thomas Pocklington Trust, are working with children and young people with vision impairment across the country to promote and raise awareness of the CFVI and discussing how it can help unlock education for all young people.

CFVI for Educators (non-VI specialists)

  • Download this series of short guides aimed at those working in education who are non-specialists in the field of vision impairment (VI) from our ‘CFVI for educators (non-VI specialists)’ page. There are guides for teachers, for support staff working with students with VI and for those in schools responsible for monitoring provision and planning around statutory and non-statutory documentation that reflect the needs of children and young people with VI.
