Advisory Services Detail
I advise schools on how to support children with visual impairments. I have worked with one high school and one primary school in Lancashire for a number of years. This involves assistance with recruitment and training of teaching assistants and then ongoing support. I have provided assessments and liaise closely with SENCOs. I provide advice to teaching staff on classroom management of a child with a visual impairment. I work directly with some children in class and to develop specialist skills. I provide advice on special arrangements for exams and tests. I am also able to provide input from a qualified children's habilitation worker.
Training Detail
I have extensive experience delivering training to a range of different educational settings - high schools, primary schools, special schools and colleges of further education. I have also provided training in goalball as a disability sport.
Other Detail
I am involved in a sports club for the visually impaired in Manchester and am the club coach for goalball.
