A highly experienced and qualified senior MSI consultant with over 20 years operational and strategic experience of working within a range of settings including LA maintained schools, LA sensory service, university, independent and specialist organisations. Previous Lead MSI Teacher and Sensory Team Co-ordinator for Calderdale MBC and regional tutor for the Birmingham MSI Post Graduate Course. I am committed to training and supporting new practitioners in the field of MSI/Deafblindness.

Currently Lead MSI Consultant for the Seashell Trust, a national Centre of Excellence in the provision of services and support to children and young people with MSI and communication difficulties.

Extensive knowledge, skills and experience of :
Specialist MSI (deafblind) assessments of children and young people, including experience of deafblind guidance assessments
Collaborative working with a range of professionals, including extensive work with local authority officers (education and care)
Delivery of a broad range of bespoke training and continuing professional development into schools and other settings in order to build knowledge and capacity around MSI
Direct support to families and children and young people (0-25)
Cerebral visual impairment and sensory processing difficulties

I believe in using a child-centred approach to my work and maintaining a holistic overview that requires working closely with other professionals and agencies to ensure the best outcomes for these learners who often have complex needs.
