This one-day workshop is for heads of sensory services, senior managers and practitioners.

Demonstrating the impact of our work in schools, colleges and settngs on individual children and young people with sensory impairment is a real challenge.

It is a necessity both for understanding and improving our own practice and so that we can provide well‐founded information for those who are paying for our services.

This workshop use a case study approach to examine what we mean by impact and how we might go about gathering evidence.

By the end of the day you will have:

  • Explored what is meant by impact in your context
  • Mapped out the journey leading to impact on a child or young person’s wellbeing, participation and achievement
  • Identified your own priorities for measuring impact
  • Developed some evaluation strategies.

We will be using case studies that you identify from you own practice to support these outcomes.

Cost:

The cost for the day is £50/delegate reduced to £25/delegate for NatSIP-affiliated organisations, including refreshments and lunch.

Who is leading the workshop?

The workshop leader is Niki Elliot, who leads on SEND for the Sheffield Institute of Education at Sheffield Hallam University.

Niki has wide experience of working with CYP with SEND, including SI, in schools and Local Authorities. She has worked with NATSIP on developing effective partnerships with schools colleges and settngs.
